Which Theory of Power Best Describes American Democracy?

I believe that the pluralist theory best describes our current democracy. Pluralism is defined as a system in which multiple cultures, religions, races, etc. coexisting. In our society, many different people with diverse beliefs are able to practice these beliefs and stand up for their faith freely. Although America isn’t as accepting as it once was when it was deemed the nickname the Melting Pot, many different ideas are spread throughout the United States every day. For example, with all of the immigrants migrating to the U.S., the people aren’t the only things entering the country. Along with them, they carry their beliefs, and culture, which will soon be spread. Another example is different holidays. Many different holidays are celebrated across the states, such as Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and many more. Certain holidays are celebrated by certain religions, and in the U.S. all are welcome to do so. The citizens of the United States have the ability and the freedom to voice their opinions, to vote, and to practice what they preach. Everyone with different ethnicities and beliefs has the ability to coexist in the United States, which is why I believe pluralism most closely describes our current democracy.
