What Did We Miss?

It's no secret that Trump did not know what he was getting into while running for president. He promised several things that he can't or won't deliver, now occupying his place in the White House. Trump "never had any plan." During his run he claimed he was going to do this and that if he was elected. So, now he's elected and where are all the things he promised? Much more on this in the article,  Trump Is His Own Worst Enemy

Another article Trump Savagely Mauls the Language describes his poor usage of the english language instead of focusing on the more apparent issues such as the healthcare bill. However, maybe we should be taking a closer look into the smaller issues such as these. If Trump can't simply speak the english language in a professional way then what is he doing as our president which brings me to the title of my current event:

What did we miss? As american citizens, what did we miss while electing Trump to be our president? Did we see it all? Did we choose to ignore his unrealistic promises, his bold comments, his lack of knowledge regarding simple things such as language? Did we ignore it all and give into his lies?  Are they lies? Will he eventually deliver on his many promises? These are rhetorical questions because no one knows. So with such uncertainty, is our president really trustworthy?
