Trump's Bills

Has Trump signed more Bills than any other president?

In the last six months, our president Donald Trump has made some significant changes to our country. In those six months he has signed 42 bills that he keeps boasting about, the most than any other president. Which is not true. He has signed 15 reversing Obama regulations, 14 ceremonial and routine lawmaking, 5 bureaucratic tweaks, 4 space and science bills and 4 veteran bills.

For example, President Truman and Roosevelt have signed more bills in their first 100 days than President Trump so far in his presidency. Jimmy Carter had signed 70 bills, George H.W. Bush had signed 55, and Bill Clinton had signed 50. So now Trump is behind three recent presidents. Barack Obama had signed 39 bills, but his legislation appears to have been substantial, totaling 1,957 pages, compared with 880 so far for Trump. This current event shows that he didn't sign the most bills.

Discussion Questions:

1. Why do you think President Trump keeps saying he signed the most bills, even though he didn't?

2. Do you think the bills Trump has signed are going to be successful to our country?

3. Which set of bills do you think are the best to our country?
