C-SPAN'S Cram for the Exam 2018

The tradition continues! Every year C-Span (Cable TV's version of public television, covering the proceedings of the federal government) holds a live show with 2 AP Gov teachers. The program works as a national Q & A session, with students from around the country calling in and asking the veteran teachers questions about the upcoming exam. It's great review, and functions a lot like our after school review sessions - happy viewing!

High school government teachers Andrew Conneen and Daniel Larsen talked about the Advanced Placement United States Government and Politics Exam. They discussed the content and structure of the exam and previewed sample questions and what students should be studying. They also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications from high school students.

Below you will find a playlist of every crash course video on every topic covered in US Government & Politics. I think you will these videos an excellent review for the test. HOWEVER, be advised that these videos do not "teach to the test" and condense a "huuuuge" amount of information into a short amount of time. Therefore, it is recommended that you view a video more than once in order for it to be useful as a study tool.

Snow Day Assignment

No, this is not an April fools joke...it's really snowing outside...and you do have a snow day assignment...try to contain your enthusiasm. See the details below on what it due for class on Tuesday and the block day.

Due Tomorrow: Presidency Take Home FRQ
First, your test scheduled for Monday is cancelled - or at least the format we were going to use is cancelled. Instead of taking the 20 question multiple choice questions and writing the 1 FRQ in class, you will write a different FRQ at home for an assessment grade and take the 20 question multiple choice quiz at the beginning of the block day (Wednesday/Thursday). Due on Block Day: Bureaucracy Crash Course Note Sheet:
Tomorrow in class, we will be starting a mini-unit on the federal bureaucracy. Some of you are probably wondering what the bureaucracy is, some of you are thinking about your negative experiences with the bureaucracy (DMV I'm looking at you), and none of you are daydreaming happily of the day you are hired as a bureaucrat (I don't think). However, in order to cover this unit speedily, and to guarantee a level knowledge base for all of you AP Govers, I'm assigning you three crash course videos to watch and answer questions about for class on block day.
